The Cateys celebrate the finest operators in hospitality at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London on 2 July 2024
The Cateys, held in partnership with P&O Cruises, return to JW Marriott Grosvenor House London on Tuesday 2 July to celebrate the finest operators and businesses in hospitality. On this special night in the industry calendar, the Cateys will reward those who are setting new standards in hospitality, while giving the opportunity for the industry to gather and recognise excellence on a glittering evening of celebration. Winning a Catey is so cherished as all recipients are nominated, selected and rewarded by a judging panel of industry peers.
Don’t miss out on being part of the biggest celebration in hospitality. Receiving a Catey offers a unique opportunity to elevate your brand and show the industry and your customers that you are the best at what you do. Show your team and potential new employees you are dedicated to the growth, impact and success of the business by sharing your achievements.
On the awards night, come together with your team and peers to recognise the best in the business, and celebrate all your accomplishments from the last 12 months. This is your chance to be part of the most prestigious accolades in the sector. If you know of an individual, business or organisation that should be recognised, we want to hear from you.
I am absolutely delighted to be awarded this prize. It is a reflection of the fantastic team I have at every level throughout the company, plus the support that I get from Compass Group. As a farmer’s daughter who didn’t enjoy school, I hope that this award can inspire young people joining our industry and show that there are no barriers for anyone who wants to succeed at the highest level.
The Caterer has been sat at the centre of the hospitality world since before any of us were born, and the Cateys are the most coveted prizes in our world. Our team at the Goring have been over the moon to win one or two over the years and these are our most treasured trophies! I was shocked to get one, especially as it was the team at Hotelschool.org.uk who actually earned it with the legendary work they have been doing every day over the last seven years. The programme only works thanks to the amazing people who work in hospitality in the UK, who give their time and resources so willingly to help others – that’s the unique magic of our industry!
Culinera are the first ever contract cater to win this prestigious award and of course the first education-focused caterer – for too long school canteens have been the norm and our focus is on transforming this approach to creating restaurants, (not canteens) in schools that we are all very proud of. This approach is not an easy one, but very very rewarding for all involved.
Winning the Manager of the Year Catey has been an aspiration ever since I arrived in UK, so to say I am both ecstatic and overwhelmed to have received this coveted award is an understatement! It means a tremendous amount to me personally and I am proud to be awarded knowing my team at Cliveden and the wider Iconic Luxury Hotel family have been instrumental to get me here. Strong teamwork and great hospitality are at the heart of all we do, and all we achieve, and I would like to express my thanks and gratitude to all those that I work alongside.
I am thrilled to have been awarded the Health and Nutrition Catey for 2023. Not only does this award boost credibility and visibility to the vital work we are delivering in schools around mental health, but it acknowledges the significant impact we have made in our nutritional programmes and initiatives. My hope is that this award will raise awareness of the important role the food we serve children every day has on their mental wellbeing and in doing so inspire more schools to implement nutrition and mental health programmes in the future.
We are absolutely delighted to win this award, which really are the Oscars of the hospitality industry. Over the last 10 years we have put an incredible effort into building the Chestnut business and brand, and to receive this award from our peers demonstrates that the hard work, energy and belief of everyone involved in this journey has been worth it.
All of us at Red Carnation Hotels are both elated about and grateful for winning the award for Best Employer at the Cateys. We are all dedicated to making the world of work a better place for our employees and are always striving to do better. It makes us all very proud to be recognised in this way and I know I speak for our founder and president, Mrs Tollman, the Tollman family and Jonathan Raggett, our CEO when I say that we will continue to work hard and improve what we do but for a moment we will enjoy our moment in the sunshine and celebrate this truly amazing success! Thank you to everyone who made this possible – and this comes from the bottom of my heart.
I am humbled to have been recognised by such amazing industry people. I am really proud also to have won this fantastic award and to be following the footsteps of so many great winners. It is an amazing achievement indeed and I feel lucky to have been selected amongst fantastic nominees. I will continue my journey in helping to train sommeliers and hope to be a worthy advocate of wine and spirit and hospitality as a whole.
The topic of sustainability is a vast and evolving space that Red Carnation is not only growing within, but thriving too. Our application for this award wasn’t to celebrate a job well done, as much as cement our commitment to continuing the great work we’ve started. Our journey to decarbonisation is well under way and we are excited about the projects lined up that will continue to reduce our impact on the environment, as well as inspire a more sustainable future for an industry we love. This award means a great deal to us and hopefully spotlights the importance our industry needs to put on sustainability and see it as an enhancement to the guest experience rather than detracting from it. We feel so privileged to have been celebrated at the Cateys and recognised out of the incredible companies within the industry.
